IC97674: AFTER USING ONMODE -P START TO DYNAMICALLY START A NEW LISTEN THREAD, UNABLE TO CONNECT TO THE NEW DBSERVERALIAS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After adding a new alias in DBSERVERLIASES and sqlhosts, onmode
  -P start <server_name> starts the new listen thread
  successfully.
  
  Onstat -g ntt shows the new listen thread started up without
  problem with the correct tcp port number, however when
  connecting to the new server alias using dbaccess, error -761
  returned.
  
  -761 INFORMIXSERVER does not match either DBSERVERNAME or
  DBSERVERALIASES.
  
  Another issue discovered is when trying to run onmode -P stop
  <server_name>, the online.log shows listen thread stopped and
  onstat -g ntt confirms that however the onmode command continues
  to hang there and onmode -ky will not be able shut down the
  engine. Onclean -ky can successfully kill the engine.
