IC97609: 3270 BIDI SCREEN BLINKING NOT BEHAVING PROPERLY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• On one of the customer 3270 appliation screens that contained
  a BLINKING TEXT FIELD is not behaving properly.
  The blinking field behalves well only if flipping the 3270
  screen from Left to Right, but in the case where the screen is
  flipped Right to Left then the whole line which contained this
  field blinks. Only the field should blink.
  When flipping back to Left to Right then only the fiels that is
  suppose to blink blinks.

  For each blink of each blinking field, "Update PS" event is
  generated. It contains information about boundaries of blinking
  text, and the text is taken from TextPlane. However these
  boundaries are calculated incorrectly in RTL screen.
  As result, either nothing blinks or the entire line blinks.
  

Problem conclusion

• Coordinate calculation fixed in (RTL) Right to Left screen
  columns are counted from right to left.
  
  Fix scheduled for HOD 11.0.9 Refresh Pack
