Error description

  • When the MAC OS X client attempts to retrieve or restore an
    object (..such as a file or directory), where the original file
    system type is different from the destination file type, there
    is no guarantee the all of the original file system's ACL
    attributes will be supported by the destination file system's
    ACL schema. When the destination file system's ACL schema is
    not compatible with an ACL attribute of the original file
    system, the retrieve operation terminates with the following
    error:
    ANS0361I DIAG: TransErrno: Unexpected error from
                   psStructACLWrite, errno = 45
    The following trace lines of this error show that the client is
    terminating because of return code "retCode = 131", indicates
    this is a system error:
    05-09-2013 16:01:57.382 [022754] [196091904] : mac/pserrno.cpp
        ( 594): TransErrno: Unexpected error from psStructACLWrite,
        errno = 45
    05-09-2013 16:01:57.382 [022754] [196091904] : mac/pserrno.cpp
        ( 599): TransErrno: Received error from psStructACLWrite,
        errno = 45, rc = 131
    05-09-2013 16:01:57.382 [022754] [196091904] : mac/psacl.cpp
        ( 793): psStructACLWrite: got an error, retCode = 131,
        errno = 45 : 'Operation not supported'
    The correct behavior for the MAC OS X client is as follows:
    1. Retrieve or restore the object even though the ACL metadata
       can not be applied.
    2. Continue with the retreive or restore operation for all other
       identified objects.
    The problem has been observed on a MAC OS X client, where the
    original file system was XSAN, and the destination file system
    is NFS.
    Note that the when Tivoli Storage Manager client tries to apply
    certain XSAN ACL file system attributes to the NFS file system,
    it is NFS that will report an error back to the client that not
    all of the ACL parameters are supported. In cases such as this
    the client will on a best effort basis attempt to retore the
    object, but will not be able to apply the ACL data.

Local fix

  • 1. Retrieve or restore the objects to a file system that is of
       the same type as the original.
    2. Retrieve or restore the objects to a file system that
       supports all the ACL attributes of the original file system.
