Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    This APAR affects users of the WebSphere Application Server
    Liberty Profile v8.5.5 who wish to deploy the WebSphere MQ
    Resource Adapter into a Liberty Profile instance.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
    When the WebSphere MQ V7.5.0.0 or V7.5.0.1 Resource Adapter
    was deployed into a WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile
    v8.5.5 instance, there were a small number of configuration
    and diagnostic inaccuracies including:

    The WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter failed to honour the
    SHARECONVALLOWED property, when the property was set in the
    Liberty Profile configuration files

    The WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter produced incorrectly formatted
    diagnostic trace output

    The JMS UserID could not be overridden by an application
    performing outbound messaging, with the UserID defaulting to the
    user ID running the Liberty Profile Java Virtual Machine.

    The WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter could throw
    NullPointerExceptions if trace of the Liberty Profile tracing
    component was enabled while the WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter
    was also being traced. These NullPointerExceptions were seen
    from the following methods:
    - com.ibm.jms.JMSMessage.toString()
    - com.ibm.mq.jms.MQRoot.hashCode()
    - com.ibm.mq.jms.MQTemporaryQueue.toString()

Problem conclusion

  • The WebSphere MQ Resource Adapter has been modified to resolve
    the issues described above, to allow the WebSphere MQ Resource
    Adapter to be used in a WebSphere Application Server Liberty
    Profile v8.5.5 instance.
