APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• During node replication, the Tivoli Storage Manager can
  experience TCP/IP communication failures on sessions related
  to replication processing.  This can occur if the session has
  gone idle for some period of time, and a network timeout has
  decided to close the sockets.
  
  For example:
  
  Source Replication Server:
    ANR8216W The server experienced a TCP/IP error while sending
             data on socket 19.  Reason 32.
    ANR3178E A communication error occurred during session 1234
             with replication server REPLTARGET.
    ANR0479W Session 1234 for server REPLTARGET (AIX) terminated
             - connection with server severed.
  
  Target Replication Server:
    ANR0479W Session 4321 for server REPLSOURCE (AIX) terminated
             - connection with server severed.
  
  The server can reduce the amount of idle time on the network
  sockets via a TCPIP keepalive.
  
  Customer/L2 Diagnostics:

  All 6.3.0.0+ Tivoli Storage Manager users of node replication.

• Increase any network timeouts to prevent the sockets from
  being unexpectedly closed.
