APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If the following conditions are true:
  - A file or group backup is being performed in the MMC GUI
    - Items from multiple databases are selected
    - Files within the databases have the same name
  then the backup performed by Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager
  for Microsoft SQL will include the identically named items from
  all databases that are selected.
  Example:
  Assume that:
  - db_test1 and db_test2 exist, and
  - each has a primary group, and another group, named group1, and
  - each group1 contains a file named file1,
  Then in the MMC GUI:
  - navigate to the Protect Tab File View.
  - select a file from the primary group and also select 'file1'
    from the second database
  - perform a group backup for two selected files
  - query TSM to check for backup objects.
  - perform file backup for two selected files
  - query tsm to check for backup objects.
  The group backup will have created 4 backup objects and the file
  backup will have created 3 backup objects. However, the
  operations performed should only result in two backup objects
  each.

Local fix

• 1) When using the MMC interface, only select items from a single
  database for file or group backups.
  2) Use the command line to perform the backup.

  The FCM MMC interface was not written correctly to handle
  backup of ojbects from more than one database that have
  the exact same name.
  

Problem conclusion

• Our MMC code was changed to perform FILE or GROUP backup of
  only the selected items.
