IC91003: HSM FOR WINDOWS PLUGIN FAILS TO READ STUB CONTENT FROM SHADOW COPY OF THE LOCAL DISK DURING B/A CLIENT SNAPSHOT BASED BACKUP.

APAR status

Error description

  • On systems with Tivoli Storage Manager Backup/Archive Client
    and Tivoli Storage Manager HSM for Windows installed, the B/A
    client fails to backup migrated files if snapshot based backup
    is being used.
    To check if a HSM stub file needs to be backed up, the B/A
    client needs to calculate the reparse point CRC of the stub
    located on the local shadow copy volume and compare it with the
    CRC of the stub stored on the Tivoli Storage Manager server.
    This operation may fail due to the HSM plugin not being able to
    read the stub content from the shadow copy of the local disk.
