APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • During busy periods, there may be excessive contention on
plogpl, plcurr and plothr during checkpoints.

Part of this reason might be due to a slow io subsystem, though
it could also relate to a high number of temporary dbspace
buffers being used, which though they are not physically logged
they still cause unnecessary checks which impacts the checkpoint
performance with the symptoms described above.
