Error description
This issue only happens on Linux. During upgrade from 4.2.2.95 to 5.1 installer generates error BPCIN0147E. BPCIN0147E The WebSphere Application Server user name password does not match the password for the existing user name user_name on the system. Run the changepasswords tool to change the password for Tivoli Storage Productivity Center. RECREATE STEPS: Execute chage -l username to get user password expiration properties. An output example is this: Last password change : Jan 3, 2013 Password expires : Jan 23, 2013 Password inactive : never Account expires : never Minimum number of days between password change : 0 Maximum number of days between password change : 20 Number of days of warning before password expires : 7 To reproduce the problem, run chage -M -1 username to get: Last password change : Jan 3, 2013 Password expires : never Password inactive : never Account expires : never Minimum number of days between password change : 0 Maximum number of days between password change : -1 Number of days of warning before password expires : 7 Now if you run the installer you get an error saying the password is expired even though is not.

Call IBM support for a temporary fix.
