IC86858: ANR9999D_0032577646 POSITION ERROR OCCURRING ON VOLUME

Error description

• Diagnostic message ANR9999D_0032577646 indicates that
  the current mounted volume has been moved out from under
    Tivoli Storage Manager and if the server continues to
    write to the volume then data corruption can occur.
  
    The Tivoli Storage Manager server will periodically check
    the current position by querying the drive and comparing
    with the position the server has as its current position.
    This check only occurs on FLUSH and POS operations.If the
    positions do not match then the ANR9999D is triggered.
    The volume is closed and the transaction is aborted.
  
    If this ANR9999D_0032577646 is encountered then there is
    likely some data overwrite already unless you are using
    "Append-Only mode" which is an IBM device feature. The
    ANR9999D message indicates the Tivoli Storage Manager
    detected issue and aborts.

    5.5, 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3 of all supported operating systems.

  volume position error Tivoli Storage
  Manager has not repositioned the tape. Writing is halted to
  prevent data loss.

  The write operation fails.
