APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • More then one SAN Inquiry requested are running at the same
    time.  This can be seen if more then one Query SAN is done.
    In the reported case, the ODBC client was collecting the Actlog
    information and the Admin Center was doing normal select queries
    at the same time.
    
    Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:  All supported levels
    
    Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
    The Actlog may have many messages before the crash like:
    ANR2017I Administrator ADMIN issued command: FETCH NEXT 50
    This is does not have to be the case as the cause was due to the
    TSM SAN Inquiry requests.
    
    The core stack will have the following:
    Segmentation fault in naSAN_Fetch at 0x1002832ac ($t179562)
    0x1002832ac (naSAN_Fetch+0x44) e8ff000e         lwa
    r7,0xc(r31)
    (dbx) where
    naSAN_Fetch(??, ??, ??) at 0x1002832ac
    sqlBaseTable_Fetch@AF56_40(??, ??) at 0x1001698b4   <-- Does not
                                                     need to be seen
    
    Initial Impact: Medium
    Additional Keywords:  dump crash q san
    

Local fix

  • If you are doing the same type of SQL queries, then limit them.
