IC86513: PCOM: FAILED TO DISPLAY CHARACTERS PROPERLY ON WINDOWS WHEN REGIONAL AND LANGUAGE SETTING IS VIETNAMESE

Error description

• PCOM v6.0.5 failed to display characters properly on Windows
  when the regional and language setting is Vietnamese.
  
  1. Uninstall PCOMM6.0.5 MLS from the PC
  2. Change language option as below and reboot the PC
  3. Install PCOMM6.0.5 MLS and reboot the PC
  4. The PCOMM is default to code page 1130
  5. Change language to VI, and key in 1234 on notepad, it shows
     VNS chars
  6. However, when he input 1234 on PCOMM, it shows an error as
     the same as before, some VNS chars become   | ?  & s.

  PCOM checks the Windows operating system locale to determine
  if Vietnamese host code page 1130 or 1164 can be used. If the
  system locale is English, the user can not configure a
  Vietnamese emulator session.
  

Problem conclusion

• PCSCLIB.DLL, PCSPD.DLL and PCSWS.EXE have been changed to check
  the Vietnamese locale using the selected host code page (1130
  or 1164) instead of the Windows system locale.
  
  User needs to enable "VI" input method to allow Vietnamese
  characters when using host code page 1130 or 1164 under the
  English locale.
  
  Fix scheduled for PCOM 6.0.6 Refresh Pack
