Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: PCOMM users who utilize the 'STRPCCMD * * PCCMD()' command. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If the user issues : STRPCCMD PCCMD * * ('NET USE') then the PCOMM screen * * will be erased and will not auto * * refresh after the command is finished. * * This is not the expected behavior. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** PCOM is working as designed in this case, however, there is a keyword "STRPCCMD_Pause" that can be used to solve such a problem but will not meet customer requirements for other data behavior in regard to STRPCCMD command.
Problem conclusion
Without changing the current behavior of "STRPCCMD_Pause" keyword, PCSCC.DLL and PCSPCO.DLL have been changed to check a registry key to satisfy the customer requirement as below. Add a registry string "STRPCCMD_Pause" and set its value to "Y" in registry key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\PersonalCommunications \CurrentVersion\PCSWIN] will enable the same feature as keyword "STRPCCMD_Pause=Y" in workstation profile, except the PCOMM 5250 session will get screen refreshed and not stopped after the command is issued. Limitation: This implementation is only for Japanese code page sessions, and only works when the registry string "STRPCCMD_Pause" has a value set to "Y" and keyword "STRPCCMD_Pause" keyword does NOT appear in the .ws profile. (This implementation will become invalid when keyword "STRPCCMD_Pause" exists in the workstation profile no matter if it is set to "Y" or "N".) Fix scheduled for PCOM 6.0.6 Refresh Pack
