Error description

  • The message "Saving message content failed" may appear when
    trying to save an attachment file in the Mailbox Restore Browser
    of the Tivoli Storage Manager for Mail: Data Protection for
    Microsoft Exchange MMC GUI when a sender name in the mail
    message has some non-ASCII symbol(s).

    When saving a mail message with an attachment, Data Protection
    for Microsoft Exchange uses a sender name to create a mail
    address.
    In a source mail: sender is "sender name".
    In the saved mail: sender is "sender <name@mail.address>".

    When a sender name has some non-ASCII symbol(s), an exception
    occurs, since a mail address can have only ASCII symbols.

    When Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange tracing is enabled
    using the service trace flag, the fcm_TraceFm.trc file will
    have the following information about an exception:

    Fm Information: 0 : 7/11/2012 17:16:28:597
    MailDataInterface.cs : (1459)       Enter Void SaveMailMessage()
