IC85493: CMSM FAILOVER IS NOT HONORING HA_ALIAS

Error description

• We document that the HA_ALIAS parameter in onconfig file
  contains the MACH 11 node name that will be used when failover
  to a secondary node is performed. However, there may be specific
  network topologies where the Connection Manager can't access the
  secondary node using the dbserveralias specified in HA_ALIAS.
  For example, you may use  segmented networks to split the
  application traffic from the node-to-node (high availability,HA)
  traffic. In such a case each of the MACH11 nodes will have 2
  network interfaces (one attached to the appl. network, the
  second to the HA network) and 2 dbserveraliases. In case the
  communication between these 2 networks would be prohibited
  either by firewall rules or by a physical separation of the
  networks and your Connection Manager would run somewhere in the
  appl. network, it could accces the secondary using its
  'application' dbserveralias, but it couldn't reach the 'ha'
  dbserveralias used as HA_ALIAS. In case of a failover the
  Connection Manager would use the 'application' dbserveralias as
  the name of the newly established primary. This then may cause
  connection problems between the MACH11 nodes.
