IC85284: HSM FOR WINDOWS RECONCILE DOESN'T REMOVE FILES IN ROOT OF NESTED VOLUME

Error description

  • Problem Description:
    When HSM Monitor Service runs reconciliation on nested volume
    and files are residing in the root of the nested volume, those
    files are not considered for reconciliation. Only files in
    directories are subject to reconciliation.

    Tivoli Storage Manager HSM for Windows versions 6.3.0.0 -
    6.3.0.1 (inclusive), 6.1.4.0 - 6.1.5.0 (inclusive) , 5.5.3.0 -
    5.5.3.1 (inclusive):

    Use dsmclc list command to search for files residing directly in
    root of nested volume
    dsmclc list -g tsmspace * \nested *
    In this example 'nested' is the name of the nested volume.

Local fix

  • Obsolete migrated files in root of nested volume on TSM server
    file space may be deleted manually.
