APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• TPC installation fails during TIP portion when TIP install
  location specified as: /opt/IBM/TPC/tip or C:\program
  files\IBM\TPC\tip.
  The TIP install location must be different than
  TPC_Install_Location/tip since the installer uses the
  TPC_install_location/tip to copy some files and scripts that are
  needed by the installer to install TIP and those might be
  overridden by the TIP installer which leads to problems.
  
  
  RECREATE STEPS:
  Use /opt/IBM/TPC/tip or C:\program files\IBM\TPC\tip for TIP
  install location.

Problem conclusion

• The TPC installation program now checks to make sure those
  directory paths are not being used and will block the
  installation with a message that an invalid directory has been
  chosen.  The TIP installation path should not be under the TPC
  directory structure as those directories have a different use.
  
  The fix for this APAR is targeted for the following
  maintenance package:
