APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • performance monitor job will fail if the device name includes
spaces or special characters. tpc must either allow names with
these characters, or it must properly syntax check and flag as
an error the name when the device is added by the user. the
documentation must also be updated if there are requirements/
restrictions on the syntax of device names for tpc.

Local fix

  • remove the device and add it with a simple name that does not
    include spaces or special characters
