Error description

  • The Identify Duplicates process will acquire a volume and
    attempt to process all files that have been committed to that
    volume. If the volume that is being processed contains a large
    number of files, the process may degrade as it works through the
    volume. The reason being is that a search transaction is
    opened/closed for every 10 files that the Identify processes on
    a given volume. If there are thousands/millions of committed
    files on the given volume this can result in many transactional
    build-up and tear-downs resulting in some degraded performance.
    
    The Identify Process should be able to process more files in a
    batch to increase the efficiency of the given search
    transaction.
    
    TSM Versions Affected:
    TSM Server 6.1 or later for all platforms.
