• The user response section of Tivoli Storage Manager server
  messages manual for error ANR8463E needs improvement.  During
  device interactions, the following error can be experienced:
  
    ANR8463E: DeviceType volume volumeName is write protected.
  
  The user response should include the following additional
  response:
  
    If the write-protect switch on the volume allows writing,
    verify that the device special file for the drive has
    proper read/write permissions, at the operating system layer,
    for the user starting the dsmserv process.
