Error description

• DB2 APAR IC79773 documents the following symptom:
  
  PAUSING INPLACE TABLE REORG RETURNS SQL2219N RC=11, BUT OLR
  SHOWS AS IN PROGRESS
  
  When issuing a pause on an inplace table reorg that has nearly
  finished reorganizing the table, DB2 may incorrectly return
  SQL2219N Reason Code 11: "There is no table reorganization to
  PAUSE or STOP". However, monitoring utilities may still show
  that the reorganization is still in progress. This contradiction
  occurs during a timing window where the reorganization has
  completed processing all rows but has not yet committed because
  it is waiting for existing readers and writers on the table to
  complete.
  
  To verify you are affected by the symptom, have a look at the
  db2diag log and check for the existence of an ADM5590E message
  like:
  MESSAGE : ADM5590E  The specified INPLACE table reorganization
  action on table
            "TSMDB1  .<TABLE_NAME>" is not allowed on this node
  because of
            SQLCODE -2219 reason code "11".

Local fix

• to reduce encountering this error change the following settings:
  
  a) db2 connect to tsmdb1
  b) db2 set schema tsmdb1
  c) db2 "insert into global_attributes
          (owner,name,type,length,int32)
          values('RDB','REORG_RUNINTERVAL',3,0,1200) "
  
  d) db2 "insert into global_attributes
          (owner,name,type,length,int32)
          values('RDB','REORG_PAUSEOLDTXN',3,0,3600) "
  
  e) db2 "insert into global_attributes
          (owner,name,type,length,int32)
          values('RDB','REORG_TBLRUNLEN',3,0,3600) "
