IC80520: SCHEMA VALIDATION FAILURE WHEN COMPLEX TYPE ELEMENT HAS EXTRA WHITE SPACES

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • DataPower fails to schema validate a complex type element that
    has more that 4096 continuous white spaces in the element. An
    example of such element:
    
     <Test>
      [More than 4096 white spaces]
      <data>123</data>
     </Test>
    
    The XML document will fail schema validation and an error
    message similar to the one below will be logged:
    
    cvc-complex-type 2.3: element {http://test.org/some/ns/2}Test of
    type
    {http://test.org/some/ns/2}Test_Type may not have text content
    

Local fix

  • Reduce the number of continuous white spaces to 4096 or less.
    

Problem summary

  • Affected is Schema validation of documents with text nodes
    containing significant amounts of whitespace.
    
    Validation errors were reported for whitespace for more than
    4096 characters.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Fix is available in 3.8.2.10, 4.0.1.7 and 4.0.2.3
