APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After the client is loaded on the client machine and a bookmark
created for the offline (webserver independence feature), if you
try to start the client via the bookmark, it appears to hang.
If you press the refresh key in the browser, the client will
start. This started after the install of
Microsoft patch KB2586448.

Local fix

  • Press Refresh key when client appears to hang.

When the Microsoft MS11-081 patch is installed and offline
feature with the cached client is enabled, the HOD desktop
does not display, a blank page is displayed. This occurs
intermittently. The problem occurs because HOD's check for
the web server availability fails due to incorrect logic.

Problem conclusion

  • The code was modified to fix the logic for checking the
web server availability.

Fix is scheduled to be available in HOD 10.0.10 Refresh pack
Fix is scheduled to be available in HOD 11.0.5 Refresh pack
