Error description

  • Tivoli Storage Manager Client backups with client-side
    deduplication enabled can fail with ANS7899E (RC254) if the
    Tivoli Storage Manager server is highly active.
    This error usually occurs when a Tivoli Storage Manager Server
    expiration or similar process is either in the process of
    removing a deduplicated extent or has an extent locked during
    the client backup.
    
    This issue does not occur when using server-side deduplication.
    
    
    Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
    In the client error log following error can be seen:
    ANS7899E (RC254)  The client referenced a deduplicated extent
    that does not exist on the TSM server

    Tivoli Storage Manager Versions 6.2
