Error description

• Message QP-DEF-0177R An error occurred while performing
  operation 'sqlPrepareWithOptions' status='-120' can be
  received when creating a filter on a date field when this
  filter uses a relative date rather than for a specific date.
  This may also happen when using relative values for fields
  other than date fields.  This problem only happens creating a
  custom report or a custom query using Cognos Query Studio or
  Cognos Report Studio.

  * RECOMMENDATION: Any customer who is getting this type of     *
  *                 Local Processing error when creating their   *
  *                 own queries or reports in Cognos should      *
  *                 upgrade their Tivoli Storage Manager         *
  *                 reporting to TSM 6.3.1 and install the new   *
  *                 Tivoli Common Reporting which is part of     *
  *                 the Tivoli Storage Manager Administrator's   *
  *                 Center install media.                        *

  Errors occur when the customer tries to create custom reports
  in the Cognos Query Studio or Cognos Report Studio when
  certain types of date manipulations are applied.  The SQL
  error will say that Local Processing must be turned on to
  support the query the customer is creating.
  

Problem conclusion

• The Cognos Data model has been changed by turning on local
  processing.  With local processing turned on, these type of
  errors will no longer take place.
