Error description

  • When the backtrace file size exceeds 128kb, it is truncated such
that only the leading and trailing 64kb are preserved.


This is especially true for 7199 and 7198 models.

Problem summary


    

  • When the backtrace file exceeds 128kb, it will be truncated to
128kb when the appliance reloads.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The backtrace truncation is fixed in 3.8.0.17, 3.8.1.17,
3.8.2.8, 4.0.1.5 and 4.0.2.1.

In these firmware releases the backtrace file size is capped at
5mb, and the backtrace file will be rotated once instead of
truncated.
