IC78698: SERVER DOES NOT STARTUP AND STOPS WITH NO ERROR MESSAGE DURING FAILED DB2 CONNECT

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• TSM will either end after the following message or appear to
  hang:
  .
  ANR1380I The buffer pool monitor switch is enabled.
  .
  The following message may also be displayed
  ANR8235W This server is not configured to use TCP/IP to connect
  to  the database manager.
  .
  The problem is that we are not reporting the DB2 error when we
  test the connection to DB2 while the server is starting up. The
  server should have an error message that is displayed if the
  server is unable to connect to db2 so the error can be diagnosed
  properly.

  The server was unable to establish or validate a connection to
  the database.

  The server will shutdown.

  Examine the messages that were issued before this message to
  determine
  the cause of the failure.  Start the server after the issue
  has been resolved.
  
  Affected platforms:  AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, and Windows.
