IC78407: SYSMASTER TABLE SYSLOWMEMORYMGR IS NOT CREATED WHEN UPGRADE FROM11.50.X TO 11.50.FC9

Error description

• You upgrade from version 11.50.xC8 to 11.50.xC9. The sysmaster
  table syslowmemorymgr is not created during the upgrade. You
  might see messages like this in the online.log:
  
  08/29/11 09:48:37  SCHAPI: [Low Memory Reconfig 22-13] Error
  -206 The specified table (sysmaster:syslowmemorymgr) is not in
  the database.
  08/28/11 21:48:37  SCHAPI: [Low Memory Reconfig 22-1] Error -111
  ISAM error:  no record found.
  

Local fix

• After the upgrade to 11.50.xC9 take these steps to create the
  missing table:
  1. Ensure no one is connected to the instance.
  2. Recreate the sysmaster database by running this command:
  $INFORMIXDIR/etc/buildsmi.sh
  
  This command will not tell you the rebuild was successful but
  will tell you if there is an error.

Problem conclusion

• If the server did not create the SYSLOWMEMORYMGR table in the
  sysmaster database after the upgrade to version 11.50.xC9,
  follow these steps to create the missing table:
  
  Ensure that no one is connected to the instances and recreate
  the sysmaster database.
  
  Steps to rebuild sysmaster database:
  =========================
  
  1. Bring the server to single user mode.
         onmode -j
  
  2. Shutdown the Scheduler.
  
         Start dbaccess, select sysadmin database
         run: Execute function task (?scheduler shutdown?);
  
  3. Rebuild the sysmaster database by running the following
  script.
         $INFORMIXDIR/etc/buildsmi
  
         On Windows:
         %INFORMIXDIR%\etc\buildsmi.bat
  
  4. Restart the Scheduler.
  
         Start dbaccess, select sysadmin database
         run: Execute function task (?scheduler start?);
  
  5. Bring the server back to multiuser mode
         onmode -m
  
  
  
  This command will not tell you that the rebuild was successful,
  but it will tell you if there is an error.
  
  Alternatively, if you install version 11.50.xC9 into a new
  directory and you unload the data from the old instance and load
  it into the new instance, instead of performing an in-place
  upgrade, the SYSLOWMEMORYMGR table will be created in the
  sysmaster database.
