Problem conclusion

  • This problem was fixed.

A new server option VOLUMERESTARTTIMEOUT is created to set the
    timeout value
for TSM server to wait for the server volume processing to
    complete during the
server restart. If the server volume processing is not
    completed by the
timeout value, the server will not start.

    VOLUMERESTARTTimeout timeoutValueInMinutes

The default value is 25 minutes. The maximum value allowed is
    180 minutes and
    minimum allowed is 10 minutes.

    For example:

    VOLUMERESTARTTIMEOUT 180
    or
    VOLUMERESTARTT 180

A new server message is created.

ANR1935W Server restart has timed out with a current value of
    xx minutes.

Explanation: The server does not restart because the time
    specified for volume
processing in the restart operation has expired.

    System action: None

User response: Increase the value of the VOLUMERESTARTTIMEOUT
    option by setting
a new value in the dsmserv.opt file.
The default value is 25 minutes. The maximum value allowed is
    180 minutes and
the minimum allowed is 10 minutes.
After updating the time out value, try the restart operation
    again.
