Error description

  • Tivoli Storage Manager for Mail: Data Protection for Exchange
6.1 cannot restore messages to mailboxes that contain
parentheses "( )" in the display name using the GUI.  The
messages can be restored to the original location, or to a PST
file, or to a mailbox that does not contain parentheses in the
display name.  The messages can also be restored using the
command-line interface.

Local fix

  • Restore the messages using the command-line interface.
Alternatively, restore the messages to the original location, a
PST file, or a mailbox that does not contain parentheses in the
display name.

IBM Tivoli Data Protection for Microsoft Exchange will be
updated to support IMR restore operation to the alternate
mailbox with the mailbox display name that includes
parentheses ( ) characters.

no longer occurs.
