APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using a Web Service Proxy configured with a WS-Security
Policy, encryption key tokens referenced by the X509IssuerSerial
token reference mechanism may not be properly recognized. This
can result in the policy incorrectly rejecting the message.

Local fix

  • Use a token reference mechanism other than X509IssuerSerial
reference for the encryption token. e.g. Key Identifier,
Thumbprint, Direct Reference, etc.

Problem summary

  • Affected are services configured with WS-Security Policy with
clients using IssuerSerial type token references.

When an encryption key references a token which is defined using
an IssuerSerial reference, the token may not be recognized
resulting in the request being rejected.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix is available in 3.8.0.14, 3.8.1.14, 3.8.2.5, 4.0.1.2
