Error description

  • The Tivoli Storage Manager server has problems sending a
LUN reset to a SCSI tape driver.

The LUN reset should work for a SCSI tape device which is
configured by the Tivoli Storage Manager tape device driver
or the IBM tape driver with install_exclusive.exe
without -p option (without Persistent Reserve feature enabled).

The LUN reset is not suitable to reset a tape drive which is
configured by the IBM tape driver with the Persistent Reserve
    feature enabled.

This occur under the following conditions:

    - A tape drive is connected to a SAN.
    - Two host systems are connected to the same SAN.
    - One of these two host systems must be a Windows platform
    - For the Windows platform, this tape drive is configured by
the Tivoli Storage Manage kernel device driver or is
configured by the IBM tape driver with install_exclusive.exe
      with -p installation.
