• Tivoli Storage manager Upgrade Wizard (dsmupgdx)
  Create New Instance
  This panel may encounter a "Connection Error" with the
  following text:
  Unable to establish connection
  All attempts to establish a connection as the instance user
  ID have failed.  This could be due to an invalid user ID or
  password, or an inability to connect to the localmachine via
  the SSH, RSH, REXEC or Windows SMB protocols.
  Ensure that you have specified a valid user ID and password
  and that one of SSH, RSH, REXEC or Windows SMB is enabled.

  In some cases the "Connection Error" can be seen when it is
  possible to establish a connection.  Review the dsmupgdx.trc
  file for the following error:
  CTGRI0006E An error occurred when writing to the remote file...

• Change file permissions to allow for the instance owner to
  write to the instance directory.
