APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When using the redirector configured for client-side SSL,
  If the redirector is stopped then restarted then the
  clients cannot connect to the host thru the redirector.
  The HOD service manager needs to be restarted.
  

Local fix

• Restart the HOD Service Manager
  

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Host On-Demand Redirector Users              *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After Stopping and re-starting the      *
  *                      Redirector Service on the HOD Admin     *
  *                      GUI Panel, the redirector is not able   *
  *                      to accept secure connections from the   *
  *                      Host On-Demand clients.                 *
  *                      Also, with the increase in number of    *
  *                      connections through the Redirector,     *
  *                      it stops accepting connections and      *
  *                      the service manager eventually          *
  *                      crashes with a memory leak.             *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  Restarting the Redirector Service on the Host On-Demand
  Administration Utility does not allow Host On-Demand clients
  to connect to the Redirector and users are not able to connect
  to hosts through the Host On-Demand Redirector. The Redirector
  Service will be started and ports will be in LISTEN mode, but
  the connections through the Redirector will not go through.
  This problem is being handled and when the load on the Linux
  Redirector increases leads to a memory leak in the native
  part of the code.
  

Problem conclusion

• Changes have been made to initialize the redirector whenever
  the redirector is started. The Memory leak was due to some
  class objects not getting freed when the sessions through the
  Redirector are closed.
