IC74520: WHEN THE GROUP "INFORMIX-ADMIN" ALREADY EXISTS, TWO UNNECESSARY ERROR MESSAGE BOXES ARE DISPLAYED DURING INSTALLATION

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When doing an installation in a domain, the installation tries
    to create the IXDBSA Group (Informix-Admin).  If that group
    already exists, a message box is displayed with the following
    message:
    
    norolesep_creategroup Failed to create Group. Group already
    exists.
    
    The same message is also added to the install.log.
    
    A second message box with the message:
    
    norolesep_add_informix_to_group - 2220 Failed to create Group.
    Group already exists.
    
    is displayed as well, and also documented in the install.log.
    
    Both message boxes can only be closed with an ok button, no user
    action is possible.
    These messages are cryptic and misleading, as there is no
    problem at this stage of the installation,
    they should best not be shown.  Just adding the information in
    the install log should be sufficient.
    
    norolesep_creategroup - 5 Failed to create Group. Group already
    exists.
    norolesep_add_informix_to_group - 2220 Failed to create Group.
