IC74479: ODCINFO SERVLET MAY NOT POPULATE COOKIENAMES VALUE PROPERLY UNLESS THE APPLICATION IS RESTARTED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The ODCInfo Servlet used with the Application Optimization
  feature for Intelligent Load Distribution may fail to populate
  the cookieNames value if a cluster has been started after the
  servlet was started.
  
  If the application is running and the cluster is
  subsequently started, then the output of:
  
  http://dm_hostname:dm_port/ODCInfo/ODCInfo?c=clusterName
  
  may show:
  
  <cookieNames value="null"/>
  
  instead of an expected value like:
  
  WSJSESSIONID,JSESSIONID,SSLJSESSIONID.
  

Local fix

• The problem resides in the ODCInfo servlet that is retrieving
  the cluster information including server hostnames, ports,
  weights, and session affinity.   The ODCInfo servlet is shipped
  in the resource kit.   The customer must uninstall the ODCInfo
  servlet and OSGi bundle, and must install the ODCInfo servlet
  and OSGi bundle from one of the following resource kits:
  DataPower-3.8.1.11-XI50-Resource-Kits
  DataPower-3.8.1.11-XS40-Resource-Kits
  DataPower-3.8.2.3-XI50-Resource-Kits
  DataPower-3.8.2.3-XS40-Resource-Kits
  

Problem summary

• Session Affinity is not properly updated when a new cluster is
  brought on line.
  

Problem conclusion

• The fix will be in 3.8.1.11 & 3.8.2.3
  

Temporary fix

• Restart the ODCInfo Application and all values associated with
  all clusters will be correctly retrieved.
