Error description

  • In a geographically distributed Active Directory (AD) multi
    domain forest, Data Protection for Exchange Individual Mailbox
    Restore might spend a great portion of its processing time in AD
    queries to each MS-Exchange server in each domain. Especially
    those servers without mailbox (without objectClass=user) cause
    much delay.
    These queries may take hours and can be mistaken as a hang.

Problem summary

    During IMR Data protection for Exchange query for the
    mailboxes all the domains in the AD forest. It could take a
    great amount of time in the geographicaly distributed AD
    forest.
    

Problem conclusion

  • During IMR Data protection for Exchange query should
    search for the mailboxes local and parent domain first, then
    if not found the whole forest.
