IC72286: TRANSFORM ACTION OUTPUT MAY CONTAIN DUPLICATE XML MESSAGES IN THE CASE OF AN XPATH MATCH ACTION TYPE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• With a certain combination of processing actions and a specific
  stylesheet layout, the output XML message of a transform
  action may contain duplicates.
  This only happens for Match Action type XPath.
  

Local fix

• As a temporary workaround, adding an identity transform action
  as the first action in the rule avoids the
  incorrect duplication of the later tranform action XML message
  ouput.
  

Problem summary

• Affected are customers having policies with match action of
  XPath type.
  
  For certain XPath match statements the stylesheet processing the
  input document might find duplicate nodes.
  
  For performance reasons document traversal (eg. "//element")
  results of a XPath match action are cached on the document for
  improved access of the same traversals in a stylesheet. This
  caching mechanism had a problem.
  

Problem conclusion

• The fix is available on 3.8.0.11, 3.8.1.10 and 3.8.2.2
