APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Using auto-negotiate, the interface will show a status of
'no-link' gigabit, although the interface remains responsive.

Local fix

  • Using fixed speed such as 100 or 1000 FD may prevent
the incorrect state.

Problem summary

  • In some appliances models running "ng" devices (for example,
xg3ng, xg4ng), the firmware may mistakenly report 'no-link' when
the interface has been configured to auto-negotiate link speed.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix will be in 3.8.1.7
