APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If a database contains INSTEAD OF Trigger, a generated schema
file (created by DBEXPORT or DBSCHEMA)
includes a 'create procedure' statement which is referencing a
view
before the 'create view' statement.

A DBIMPORT using this schema file will fail with -206/-111, as
the referenced view doesn't yet exist.

Local fix

  • Workaround is to manually change the order of SQL in the schema
file

Problem summary

* Users of  dbexport/dbimport tools with database schema that  *
* include view triggering procedures.                          *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
* When users export a database that contains view triggering   *
* procedures, a check was enforced that the view has to exist  *
* before procedure was created.                                *
* This caused users to get errors -206 during dbimport.        *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
* Upgrade to IDS.11.50.xC9N073 or later.                       *
****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • Removed check for existence of view before the triggering
procedure is created. This check is not needed as there is no
post-check enforced if the view dropped after the procedure has
already been created.
