Error description

  • When a mediation flow component includes a Fail primitive or
    does not handle error conditions a Service Runtime Exception
    may occur.  This may cause a memory leak to build up over time

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus    *
    *                 and WebSphere Process Server version 7.0.0   *
    *                 who have several thousand messages end as    *
    *                 failed events may encounter this issue.      *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a mediation flow component         *
    *                      includes a Fail primitive or does not   *
    *                      handle error conditions a Service       *
    *                      Runtime Exception may occur. This may   *
    *                      cause a memory leak to build up over    *
    *                      time.                                   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: If the Java Virtual Machine crashes with     *
    *                 Out Of Memory exceptions, this could be      *
    *                 due to a build up of Service Runtime         *
    *                 Exceptions, causing a memory leak to build   *
    *                 up. If this is the case, the fix in this     *
    *                 APAR should be applied.                      *
    ****************************************************************
    Service Runtime Exceptions thrown from a mediation may result
    in a memory leak.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been modified to stop the memory leak from
    occurring.
    
    The code fix was targeted to be included in the following fix
    packs:
