APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • RSS Fails to re-connect to Primary with Primary smxsnd thread in
cond wait smx pipe1

After a communication problem, for example, Primary down and RSS
started or another communication problem, RSS reports :

DR: Trying to connect to server, pri_t. If the specified server
is not in Online mode, bring it to Online mode.
Dataskip is now OFF for all dbspaces
Restartable Restore has been ENABLED
Recovery Mode

The Primary smxsnd and smxrcv threads are :

> onstat -g ath | grep smx
 102     c000000009bb6578 c000000008b01868 3    cond wait  smx
pipe1    1cpu         smxsnd rss1_t
 103     c000000009bb6aa0 c000000008b020c8 3    ready
       3cpu         smxrcv rss1_t

A shutdown / startup of the RSS may re-establish communication
or an onmode -d RSS pri_t.
