Error description

  • If you create a fragmented table with rowid column (using 'alter
table ... add rowids' or 'alter fragment ... init with rowids')
and the table stores a spatial data (like st_point datatype) and
then you insert/load/dbimport the data into this table, the
subsequent access to the table might return various errors like:
    - during a select statement, you may receive errors
USE 12 - Unknown or unsupported geometry type (%TYPE%) found
    in %FUNCTION%
USE 27 - Unknown or unsupported geometry data structure
    version (%VERSION%) found in %FUNCTION%
or the data from the columns following the spatial column
    might be presented as corrupted.

    - when adding an index or a referential key you might get
    errors:
       a) 212 (Cannot add index.)/103 (ISAM error: illegal key
    descriptor)
       b) 525 (Failure to satisfy referential constraint) / 111
    (ISAM error: no record found)

    - an update of the columns following the spatial column seems to
be successfull, but the data might not get updated

Local fix

  • Don't use the rowids with fragmented tables storing the spatial
    datatypes
