IC68757: 207 ERROR RETURNED AND REPLICATES LEFT IN INACTIVE STATE IF REALIZE TEMPLATE IS RAN ON MULTIPLE GROUPS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When running cdr realize template against multiple nodes a 207
  error is returned when cdr realize template had previously been
  run successfully against one of the nodes but not the others.
  The errors returned indicate verification started and
  successfully completing against the node that realize template
  had not been run against, then returns the 207 error to indicate
  the template has already been realized.
  
  The output returned from cdr command looks like:
  
  =>cdr realize template templ1 grp2 grp3

  Verification of test207@grp3:'informix'.test1 started
  Verification of test207@grp3:'informix'.test1 is successful
  command failed -- Template is already realized
   (207)
  
  Viewing the replicate state before running realize template
  shows the state ON:

  STATE:             ON:grp3
  
  After running realize template and receiving the 207 error the
  state is set to inactive:

  STATE:            Inactive ON:grp3
  
  Running cdr realize template on multiple nodes completes without
  error if none of the nodes had previously executed the command
  successfully.  Running cdr realize template on the individual
  nodes that had not previously executed the command will also run
  without error.
  

Local fix

• Remove any nodes that had a previously successful 'cdr realize
  template' run against them from the list.

Problem conclusion

• Modified the code to remove active participants from the list
  before the check whether the state change is valid. The latter
  would not allow a change from 'active' to 'active'.
