IC65519: WRONG RESULTS ARE RETURNED FROM A SELECT WITH AN ORDER BY DESC IF THE DISTRIBUTION FOR THE TABLE IS OUT OF DATE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The wrong number of rows are returned with a simple SELECT with
  ORDER BY DESC if the distribution is a little bit out of date.
  
  Select *  From Test32517 Where FrwInd =  913999  order by BHJ
  Desc;
  
  A distribution must exist for the table. If there is one insert
  after the last  UPDATE STATISTICS HIGH then the result is wrong.
  
  If there is no INSERT between UPDATE STATISTICS HIGH and the
  SELECT the result is ok.
