Error description

• The Tivoli Storage Manager server can automatically label new
  media with blank internal labels via the AUTOLABEL feature.
  With the AUTOLABEL feature enabled, the volume's internal
  label will be written the first time that the volume is
  mounted after checkin.

  The Tivoli Storage Manger server with library and drives
  using 8 character labels can fail to automatically label
  (AUTOLABEL) a tape volume if a 6 character barcode is returned.
  This will cause the process requiring the scratch volume to
  fail.
  .
  Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
  A PVR MMS trace will show a 6 character barcode returned
  instead of an 8 character barcode.  For example:

      Barcode for volume in slot 259 is 'A00001'.
    01:02:03.004 ￭5555￭mmsscsi.c￭20542￭GetLoadedBarcode:

  In this example, the barcode returned was 'A00001', however,
  the barcode should have returned 'A00001L4'.  This causes
  the AUTOLABEL to fail.
