IC62568: ALTER FRAGMENT DETACH MODIFIES THE INDEX DEFINITION OF AN INDEX USING THE SAME EXPRESSION BUT NOT THE SAME STORAGE AS THE TABLE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• With a table fragmented by expression with multiple fragments in
  the same dbspace and indexes using the same fragmentation
  expression but using a different dbspace(s), when the statement
  "alter fragment on table old_table detach dbspace_name
  new_table;" is issued the indexes will be rebuilt in the dbspace
  used by the old_table table which is unexpected behavior.
  
  The online documentation section "Fragmenting the Index Using
  the Same Distribution Scheme as the Table", states the
  following: "Because the distribution scheme of the index is the
  same as the table, the ALTER FRAGMENT DETACH statement
  does not rebuild the index after the detach operation." .
