IC62415: IDS FAILS IN _OSGETSPNAM() FUNCTION TO GET THE SHADOW PASSWORD

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• IDS fails to get the shadow password when it is setup in an
  
  environment with Centrify DirectControl.
  The following error is logged in the online.log when IDS
  attempts
  to start using SHM protocol.
  Get Shadow Password for user [informix] failed!
  Check for password aging/account lock-out.
  listener-thread: err = -951: oserr = 0: errstr =
  informix@hostname: Incorrect password or user informix@hostname
  is not known on the database server.

  * Upgrade to IDS 11.50.xC6 and above.                          *

Problem conclusion

• Problem first fixed in IDS 11.50.xC6 so that an attempt to
  obtain the shadow password is not made if a password was not
  supplied by the user.
