  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Incorrect results may be returned for a query using two or more
    tables in a join operation where these conditions exist:

    At least one of the tables has a primary key.
    All columns of the primary key have an equality predicate in
    the query.
    The table is used in a hash join.
    The table is accessed using an index that is not the primary
    key index.

    This behavior is first seen in IDS 11.50.xC4.

Local fix

  • Use optimizer directives:
    - to avoid use of the index that is not the primary key in the
    dynamic hash join
    - or to avoid the dynamic hash join

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * When a table has a primary key, and all the columns of the *
    * primary key have an equality predicate in a query, and the *
    * table is used on the build side of a hash join, and the *
    * table is accessed using an index that is NOT the primary key *
    * index, then potentially wrong result can occur for the *
    * query.                                                       *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    * Upgrade to IDS 11.50.xC6 and above. *

Problem conclusion
