IC61753: ALTER LOGMODE ADMIN TASK FUNCTION DOES NOT CHANGE THE LOGGING STATUS OF A DATABASE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• You run the ALTER LOGMODE command. It seems like it ran
  successfully but it does not change the logging mode of the
  database.
  

Local fix

• After running the ALTER LOGMODE command run a fake backup using
  ontape or onbar.
  

Problem summary

  * If the fake backup was being done using admin, the log       *
  * changes made prior to the backup were not being committed.   *

  * buffered or buffered to no log or any other combination and  *
  * then a fake backup was done using admin, these changes were  *
  * not committed.                                               *

  * Upgrade to IDS 11.50.xC5 or above                            *

Problem conclusion

• The problem is fixed in IDS 11.50.xC5.
  The fake backup done by admin task will now commit any log
  changes to any databases done prior to running the fake backup.
